Trucking Industry Leader Joins ACES – Will Lead Newly Formed Advisory Council as Chairman

Winston-Salem, NC (January 14, 2022) — Jim Reed, formally of TravelCenters of America, Inc. (TA, Cleveland) and Bosselman Enterprises, (Grand Island, NE), has joined ACES, the innovative and first of its kind association dedicated to commercial equipment repair businesses as Director of Business Development and Chairman of the newly formed Advisory Council.

On behalf of the entire ACES team, we are thrilled to have Jim join ACES in the leadership capacity as Chairman”, said Executive Director, Mike Parnitzke. “His extensive prior experience leading large and successful organizations within corporate truck services management and operations over a 40 plus year career, will be indispensable to serving our members and growing the association”. Lynn Murphy, founder of ACES, added, “With Jim’s background, and solid relationships built over many years in the trucking industry, we are super excited to have him as a team member”. “I am sure Jim’s many years in our industry will be invaluable to ACES as it advances its mission to ensure every member business thrives”.

Jim has a unique combination of technical expertise and leadership skills needed to successfully implement world-class program strategy and high-performing teams. His career began in 1981 with Travel Centers of America, as fuel shop manager. Over the 39 years since then, Jim ran front line shop operations for 10 years and then advanced his leadership and operations experience to the role of Director of Truck Service Recruiting, VP of Truck Service Marketing, and VP of Truck Services New Business. In his leadership capacity, he was the creator of the TA Onsite Program, which is now over 300 trucks and a key profit center for TravelCenters of America.

Jim was also a member of the prestigious TA Truck Services Advisory Team that worked with key fleets to gain valuable feedback on program successes and an understanding of how to support customer operations.  Jim is a member of the Technical Maintenance Council (TMC) since 1991.  During this time Jim was a leader in supporting and growing the TMC SuperTech Program over the past 14 years. Jim was able to lead TA techs to winning SuperTech stations every year and have technicians place overall top ten in the competitions over the years.
